So I had a pleasure of having oral surgery yesterday. It's around 3 am and my mouth is a little swollen and I have awesome breath. I need some more pain medication and I am going to ice my face in a minute.
I am not sure why they just don't keep you sedated for the first day?
The surgery went well. They removed two wisdom teeth and a 6 year molar that was fully impacted under the gum, and that had some how abscessed . Super fun!
I have to say my Dr. visits have some how became my hobby in the last year and I am pretty done with it all. March 0f 2008-December 2008 I visited Dr's, chiropractor, message therapist, two tries at physical therapy, 3 orthopedic and a Osteopath. Now don't forget that procedures I had. 3 MRI's one included injecting of die into the shoulder, 3 x-rays and and 3 injections of cortisone into the shoulder. Nothing was showing on the scans except for swelling so they just kept saying it was my neck. I laughed and cried every time they said it was my neck. Because the funny thing was my shoulder really was the only thing that hurt. NOT MY NECK. But try to tell a smart Dr. that. Believe me I did, and it still took 8 months to figure out why my shoulder hurt. So December 2008 a great Orthopedic preformed arthroscopic shoulder surgery and found the problem. I had a tar on the outer part of my should socket. Every time I would move my arm I was pulling the tar inside my shoulder joint and it would become more inflamed!!!!!! 45 minutes of repair ,2 day's in the hospital for the pain and my shoulder was fixed. Woohoo!

Of course I am still healing and it hurt every day but not as much as it did. The Dr. says that i should be better by the summer if I don't over do it. Not a problem I am just a mother of 3. How could I over do it.
So my plan is to heel my face and call it good for a while with Dr. visits. So send out some prayer for my health. I am in dispirit need of them. I know that is the only reason I made it through the 8 months with my shoulder pain without taking pain medication, and not admitting myself into a psychiatric hospital. Thank you Jesus for you love and hugs.

I absolutely hate the dentist !! Hope you are feeling better
ReplyDeleteJenny - I completely understand the pain!! I had all 4 impacted wisdom teeth out at once. The recovery nurse refused to give me anything until all of the anesthesia had worn off. I just cried, Granny took me home and went out to fill the prescription. Two percocet just barely touched the pain!! YOWEE. But it did subside quickly, and after a weekend I was back to work and just a little tender.
